NORMAN — The mother of a 6-month-old child who was beaten to death more than three years ago is set to go on trial today. Cleveland County prosecutors have charged Heather Trask with first-degree murder in the April 6, 2006, death of Mackenzie Trask. Prosecutors allege Heather Trask either inflicted Mackenzie’s injuries or permitted the abuse.
Her husband, Jonathan Trask, called 911 and told dispatchers his daughter fell off a bed. She was pronounced dead at Norman Regional Hospital. Jonathan Trask was convicted in December and sentenced to life in prison.
