WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is telling health industry leaders he expects them to deliver on their $2 trillion savings pledge. In a letter the White House released Tuesday, Obama tells health care industry groups that he will hold them to their pledge to get it done. The president wants a progress report by early June. Insurers, hospitals, doctors, drugmakers and others — a Who’s Who of health care — have promised to slow the pace of cost increases. The White House says that would save $2 trillion over 10 years, freeing up money that can be used to cover the uninsured.
